Cyprus Ionospheric Research Group

Dr. Christina Oikonomou graduated the Faculty of Physics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2003, obtained her MSc in Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics in 2005 and her PhD in 2009 from the same university. She has worked as a research assistant at the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change ltd (CMCC), in Italy and as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Cyprus Institute in Nicosia, Cyprus. Since November 2012, she is a senior researcher at FRC and she is involved in all the projects under the Cyprus Ionospheric Research Group. Her main research activities concern Ionospheric Physics and Atmosphere–Ionosphere coupling, ionospheric soundings using ground ionosondes, ionospheric modelling for nowcasting and forecasting purposes.
